In December of 2007, I was hired for a 2-week gig to help The Onion with their annual end-of-year wrap-up. I left 3.5 years later. The end-of-year wrap-up turned into designing The War for the White House election coverage site, then some special edition work, then the redesign of The Onion site, and then I got to design their first (and I think only) iPhone app – I had no idea what I was doing but it was ok because we were all just figuring out how to design apps back then. It was a great time to be alive.

In late 2008, The Onion embarked on a complete redesign of their website (including Onion News Network and Onion Radio News). As lead designer on the project, I helped in the discovery phase, created the wireframes, built the comps, worked with the programmers, and saw it through to launch.
