Project: Android redesign cont'd – Home screen
Description: While we were busy getting Android to parity with iOS, iOS kept moving ahead — so we did too!
The next big feature that we needed to add was the “Home” screen. The average ClassPass user checks their accounts an average of four times a day. We knew that we could help them get to what and where they needed faster and with less frustration. We also wanted to offer our users more customized content based on their previous behaviors.
Now when you open the app, and there’s a class scheduled within the next 14 hours, we show a map and all the important info about the class on an "Upcoming" card. New features, like “Book it again”, were added to make re-booking recent classes a snap. We also improved our “Recommended for you” class suggestions so they more closely aligned with where, when, and how people are working out. Having customized suggestions makes it a cinch to book directly from the Home screen cutting out unnecessary precious taps. We also updated the top level navigation, giving more prominence to Favorites and Profile, which were previously hidden in the old navigation. No more digging to find schedules from favorite studios. We also added sets of curated classes that are easily editable so we can add new lists at anytime.
There’s no slowing Android down at this point!
